How to connect a domain to your website

Point your domain to Hunati web hosting with nameservers, or to your own VPS with DNS records.

Updated November 2026 · 4 min read · By the Hunati team

Short answerFor Hunati web hosting, set the nameservers to ns1.hunati.com and ns2.hunati.com. For a VPS, create an A record for @ and www pointing to your server IP.

Option 1: nameservers (Hunati web hosting)

For a Hunati web hosting account, change the nameservers of your domain at your registrar to:

  • ns1.hunati.com
  • ns2.hunati.com

Then add the domain in DirectAdmin. The step-by-step version with screenshots is on docs.hunati.com.

Option 2: DNS records (your own VPS)

Keep your current DNS provider and create these records:

TypeNameValue
A@the IPv4 address of your VPS
Awwwthe IPv4 address of your VPS
MX@your mail server, if you use email

Bonus: a domain for your Minecraft server

Create an A record such as play.yourdomain.com pointing to your server IP. If the server uses a port other than 25565, add an SRV record named _minecraft._tcp.play with your port.

How long does it take?

DNS changes usually work within minutes to a few hours. Nameserver changes for some extensions can take up to 24 to 48 hours. Free SSL certificates can be issued once the domain points to the server.
