How a website project works

From the first call to a live, hosted website: the four steps of a Hunati web design project and how long each one takes.

Updated November 2026 · 4 min read · By the Hunati team

Short answerA Hunati website project has four steps: discover, design, build and host. Most websites go live in about 5 to 8 weeks.

The four steps

  1. Discover (about 1 week). A free intake call to understand your goals, your audience and what success looks like.
  2. Design (2 to 3 weeks). A distinctive visual direction and a clickable prototype that you approve before any code is written.
  3. Build (2 to 4 weeks). A hand-coded, fast and accessible website on a CMS you can update yourself.
  4. Host and care (ongoing). Launch on Hunati infrastructure, with updates, backups and improvements.

How to prepare

  • Collect a few websites you like and say why.
  • Write down your main goal: leads, sales, bookings or information.
  • Gather your logo, photos and texts, or tell us if you need help with them.
  • Think about the domain name you want to use.

Built for search engines from day one

Every Hunati website is built with fast loading, mobile-first layouts, clean headings, structured data and readable URLs, so search engines like Google and AI assistants can understand and recommend your business.

What does a website cost?

Every project is quoted after the intake call, based on the number of pages, features such as a webshop or bookings, and content work.
